The territory
In the heart of the Maremma area of Lazio
The Cerrosughero farm is located in the municipality of Canino, in the heart of the Maremma Laziale, on the border with Tuscany, in an area with a high olive-growing vocation and of great archaeological and naturalistic interest. Important traces of the ancient Etruscan past are preserved in the beautiful towns of Tarquinia, Tuscania and Vulci.
Vulci, an Etruscan necropolis, preserves the National Archaeological Museum in its castle and is home to an important archaeological naturalistic park and a WWF oasis. Suggestive glimpses of the territory offer the Etruscan-Roman bridge of the Abbadia, the fantastic settings of the sixteenth-century Parco dei Mostri di Bomarzo and the colorful contemporary architecture of the Tarot Garden. Nearby is the sea of the Maremma Laziale and Argentario, the refined village of Capalbio and the splendid medieval city of Viterbo with the renowned and monumental Terme dei Papi.
Very close lies the lake of Bolsena, the largest of the European lakes of volcanic origin, with the Bisentina and Martana islands, its evocative landscapes and crystal clear waters. The ancient villages of Civita di Bagnoregio, Pitigliano, Sorano and Sovana and the spa of Saturnia, with its unique natural pools in the world, are easy to reach.
A place where time seems to pass more slowly
Tuscia is a place where the signs of an ancient history merge with those of a rebellious and free nature. Immersed in this context it is easy to regain possession of time and experience more authentic rhythms of life. To add flavor to the pleasure of the context there is a traditional cuisine that can count on a notable gastronomic heritage ranging from EVO to lake and sea fish, from legumes to meats.
