In the heart of the Maremma area of Lazio
The Cerrosughero farm is located in the town of Canino, in the heart of the Maremma area of Lazio, close to the Tuscan border, in an area of great archaeological and naturalistic interest and with a high vocation for olive growing. Important traces of the ancient Etruscan past are preserved in the beautiful towns of Tarquinia, Tuscania and Vulci.
Vulci, an ancient Etruscan necropolis, houses the National Archaeological Museum, an important naturalistic-archaeological park, and a WWF oasis in its castle. Nearby are the Terme di Vulci, renowned for their natural thermal waters, which complete the area's offerings of history and wellness. Evocative views complete the landscape: the Etruscan-Roman bridge of Abbadia, the fantastical settings of the sixteenth-century Bomarzo Monster Park, and the colorful, contemporary architecture of the Tarot Garden. A short distance away are the sea of the Maremma Laziale and the Argentario, the elegant village of Capalbio and the splendid medieval city of Viterbo, with the renowned and monumental Terme dei Popes. Very close by lies Lake Bolsena, the largest European lake of volcanic origin, with the Bisentina and Martana islands, suggestive landscapes and crystal-clear waters. Easily accessible the ancient villages of Civita di Bagnoregio, Pitigliano, Sorano and Sovana are also reachable, in addition to the famous thermal spa of Saturnia, with its natural pools unique in the world
